I’ve had many people ask just what branding is- simply put, branding is the image your company presents to the world and your customers. The foundation of your brand is your logo. Your website, packaging and promotional materials–all of which should integrate and mesh well with your your logo–communicate your brand.

When it truly comes to making a first impression to your customers, your logo is the first thing people notice. Think for a moment of big brands like McDonald’s, Target, NBC, or Pepsi. What was the first thing that popped into your head when I mentioned their names? If you are like most people, you could immediately picture their logos- because in these cases, the logos have become synonymous with the brands.
That’s the sort of impact a great logo can have.
Some companies build those logos on the very name of their companies- companies like Fed Ex, Google, EBay, Netflix. This form of a logo is called a logotype– and they can be just as iconic and instantly evocative.
